DOMESTIC EXTENSION
BURLEY - IN - WHARFEDALE, WEST YORKSHIRE
The new extension has beautifully transformed the existing building, creating a seamless blend of old and new. The contemporary addition was designed to respect the original structure's character while introducing fresh, clean lines and modern functionality. Large, strategically placed windows invite natural light and offer sweeping views, enhancing the sense of openness. The chosen materials reflect the existing textures but with a refined, modern twist, creating a dialogue between eras. We’re thrilled with how the extension sits alongside the original architecture, transforming the building while providing a dynamic space suited to modern needs.
The interior remodel has breathed new life into the building. The new layout optimizes flow, with open-plan areas that encourage interaction and make the most of the natural light streaming in from the extension. Backing out on to the large garden, the large Bi-folding doors disappear to create a instant connection with the outdoors seamlessly blending the outdoor with the in.

The extension has allowed us to create a spacious, open-plan kitchen diner that seamlessly connects to both the original structure and the outdoors. The layout promotes flow and functionality, making it ideal for both everyday family life and entertaining. Designed to be the heart of the home, this area enjoys ample natural light from floor-to-ceiling windows, which frame garden views and create a vibrant, airy atmosphere.
We incorporated a large kitchen island, which serves as a natural gathering point, while the sitting area transitions smoothly to the outdoor space—perfect for indoor-outdoor living. The materials in the kitchen diner, including stone countertops, matte cabinetry, and warm wood accents, complement the building's historic charm while adding a sleek, modern touch. We’re thrilled with how the extension elevates the kitchen diner, turning it into a welcoming, versatile space that truly enhances the home’s character and functionality.
